I HAVE SEEN AN ANGEL
I have seen an angel
sitting in the trees
a symmetry of nature
always sure to please
I have seen an angel
dancing in the rain
who lifted me in laughter
without anything to gain
I have seen an angel
drifting off to sleep
who filled my eyes with beauty
and memories to keep
I have seen an angel
singing to my soul
who changed my life forever
without exacting a toll
I have seen an angel
crying in the night
who sent me looking inward
to try and make it right
I have seen an angel
and some I've come to know
but I'll always see an angel
everywhere I go
In memory of a very dear friend who loved life, but finally the persecution brought on by being "different" caused him to end it.
