To a friend

You sat by me when no-one else would
And raised me from the pit of despair
You made me feel like I never thought I could
And gave me hope because you care.

Though you may not know how much you mean
Did you see my sorrow and reach out to me?
Your kindness gave me faith to dream
And for that I thank you, my friend.
