Somehere Back Along the Road
Somewhere back along the road
I took a turning.
Now I am moving
through new vistas.
Life's roadmap
is full of turnings
each going somewhere
new and exciting.
This is fun!

I took a wrong turning
somewhere back along the road.
Now I am caught
going the wrong way
along with a thousand others.
Maybe I can find the exit -
will it lead me home
or further from my goal?
Life's roadmap
is hard to follow
with no-one to guide me.

I am somewhere
where I do not want to be.
Somewhere back along the road
I turned aside -
now
I have reached a dead end -
because somewhere
back along the road -
I could not read the map.
